Andre Miller Is A Grumpy Old Man

Look I love Andre Miller; I love honesty, surliness, and his underrated game.

However, just like last April, Miller is grumpy. Really grumpy.

Via Colorado Springs Gazette:

“I want more minutes,” Miller said. “If we were losing I would really be complaining. But it’s going as it goes.”

“I don’t know how much longer they want me here. I definitely would like to contribute more,” Miller added when I asked if he wants to finish in Denver. “I’m not just going to sit back and settle in and be a backup and let my career just fade away. I’m competitive in that way.”

Here’s the thing, he CHOSE to sign with Denver knowing Ty Lawson would start and he would be what? Yeah, a backup Lawson.

Soooo, I’m not sure what Miller expected.

“You can’t win a championship. I don’t even think you can even advance in the playoffs without that marquee player.”

“I think we have enough here to play well during the (regular) season,” Miller said. “The goal right now is to position ourselves for homecourt advantage (in the playoffs). Maybe that will help; I’m not sure. But we’ll have to play a lot smarter.”

Miller knew Denver didn’t have a superstar, soooo, what’s the problem?

George Karl adores Miller and gives him heavy minutes late in games, he’s been more attentive this season overall and has played spectacularly.

He’s become unavailable to media post-game, is a bit more surly than usual, and perhaps taking shots at Lawson. It’s possible he’s using some reverse white board material for Denver, but dear lord, Andre, you chose this…

Was he woo’d by the FO under different circumstances? Unlikely.

Is he delusional? Maybe.

Is he grumpy? Absolutely.

Someone give Andre Miller some Pepcid, a handful of prunes, and a Capri Sun.

Please.
