The New York Knicks have lost four consecutive games despite winning 18 of their first 23 games; to put it simply, over the last 30 or so games, New York has been a sub-par .500 team.
However, for some reason, they’re going to the Eastern Conference Finals and somehow are going to steam roll the Miami Heat in the playoffs. After all, that’s what twitter says, and we all know twitter fans are the best analysts around.
Ok, I’m done chiding twitter fans to bring a funny statement said by Amar’e Stoudemire about the Knicks and their swag level.
“We got plenty of swagger, we may have too much swag. We got to get more greedy, from the standpoint of wanting to defend, wanting to win and having a sense of urgency. We have to want to win.”
I’m a swagless gal myself, so I’m not sure what Stoudemire is referring to.
Perhaps, swag is meant as a synonym to confidence, which I would concur with. New York – right along with a good portion of their fans on twitter – have been overconfident in their abilities not taking into relation their early winning streak was indicative to their schedule and the fact many teams start off poor.
The Knicks have hit their peak, and instead of adjusting many facets of their game, they’ve become a mediocre, complacent stinky mess.
The way they are playing now…isn’t going to win them one playoff game.
So, yeah, Amar’e is right; Knicks have too much swag.
