Did Kobe Bryant Indirectly Ask For A Roster Change?

The Los Angeles Lakers are desperately trying to manage some wins to take a stab at the 8th seed as the team now holds a paltry 17-23 record. A team that once could pick off many of the teams in the league is struggling against the league’s bottom feeders; Sunday’s game against Toronto was another example of this.

Kobe Bryant who went 10-of-32 during the loss took blame for his poor shooting, blaming his tired legs, but also making an indirect plea to the front office via ESPN Los Angeles:

“Unless they’re going to do something roster-wise, I got to continue to push through it,” Bryant said. “If this is what we’re rolling with, then I can’t make excuses. I got to go out there and do my job.”

The Lakers added Dwight Howard And Steve Nash in the off-season; they have two All-Star starters and the fact Kobe is alluding to a roster switch is pretty comical. As much of the season has dictated, Pau Gasol has been trade bait, but the question remains if anyone will bite.

Then again, this could have been a nonchalant comment by Bryant, but nothing is nonchalant about Kobe.
