It was rumored this morning Mike Brown, head coach of the Los Angeles Lakers, would be on chopping block if they had an unsuccessful homestand, but the franchise seemed keen on not taking that chance and have opted to let Brown go via Sam Amick:
Mike Brown has been fired by the Los Angeles Lakers, according to his agent Warren Legarie.
The Lakers have gone 1-4 to start off the season with Steve Nash being sidelined for most of those games. Needless to say, this sudden news has shocked many given the franchise has been publicly supportive of him.
Jerry Sloan and Mike D’Antoni have been two former coaches who have been linked to take Brown’s job, but nothing definite as of yet.
