It was a topic that swept social media on Thursday — right before David Stern’s retirement announcement — that the Mavericks guard, Delonte West, was suspended again, this time indefinitely. He was suspended on October 15th as well, but the suspension would last less than 24 hours, but seems both parties are ready to call it quits via ESPN:
Suspended guard Delonte West will not return to the Dallas Mavericks, a source said.
The team is in the process of negotiating terms of West’s departure with his agent, Dan Fegan, after the fiery guard was suspended Thursday for conduct detrimental to the team.
The options the team and Fegan are discussing include giving West a buyout, waiving him or reaching a mutual decision to part ways, in which West would be free to sign with another team but would not be paid by the Mavs.
It seems the Dallas Mavericks aren’t too keen on West’s unpredictable behaviors in the locker room, and would rather cut ties than keep him on.
