Keyon Dooling has called it quits in the NBA and spoke in length with CSNNE.com, in which he discussed why he decided to retire his shoes, but more importantly he discussed the second-best player in the league.

No, dummy, it’s not Kevin Durant — which by Dooling’s standards he’s the best player — it’s Rajon Rondo.

Wait, What?

Yes, that’s correct, he’s extremely HIGH on Rajon Rondo:

“He’s come from nothing, he’s come from nothing. He’s the second-best player in the league. He didn’t make the USA Team, sometimes he’s a replacement for the All-Star Game. He’s the epitome of an unselfish player. He rebounds the basketball, he affects the game in five statistical categories. He shoots a higher percentage than all the point guards and they always talk about how he can’t shoot.”

Dooling continued, “Not only do I think he’s the second-best player in the NBA behind Kevin Durant, but I think he is an amazing leader. I think he doesn’t get a fair shake in the media and I wish they knew my friend the way I did.”

For the record, he doesn’t shoot a higher percentage than all point guards, Chris Paul has him beat. That’s not to say Rondo isn’t elite, because he is, but most of the criticism towards Rondo is the fact he isn’t consistent with his jumper.

That’s the truth.

As for ranking him the second in the league behind Kevin Durant is silly, but what do you expect from a Celtic?

Oh, and that sound you just heard was LeBron James laughing.
