ESPN.com and their TrueHoop Network have ranked the players of the NBA and releasing their rankings on twitter ( @NBAonESPN), from number 500 to number 1. They have finally broke into the top 100 players and have ranked Danilo Gallinari, starting small forward for the Denver Nuggets, at #54.
Danilo was ranked #68 last season and increased 14 spots; not bad considering he missed a third of the season in 2011-2012 due to multiple injuries. He could have been ranked higher if he had remained healthy.
Gallinari averaged 14.6 points on 41.4% shooting from the field, 4.7 rebounds, 2.7 assists, and a PER of 16.58.
Along with Ty Lawson and even JaVale McGee, Gallinari could have a breakout year this season, but a lot of that is dependent on his health. Gallinari will become Denver’s second offensive option behind Lawson.
Gallanari should see a hefty amount of minutes and may see his three-point percentage climb to the 38-39 mark.
If healthy and productive, Gallinari just may break the top 40 next season.
