Many have been focused on Derrick Rose and his rehabilitation and when he will return to the league, but another player tore his ACL and the New York Knicks need him badly.

Enter Iman Shumpert.

Iman has been on social media — basically twitter — updating his progress with rehab and he believes he may be back by January via Newsday:

“I have a steady rehab and we mix it up,” said Shumpert…. “There’s a little bit more I can do every day, but it’s definitely not the same thing being on the court sweating. I can’t wait until I get back….

“It’s getting better . . . Everything’s been good so far,” Shumpert said. “I haven’t had any bad days. I’m happy about that. I’ll be going to a MRI soon and see if we can pick up the intensity of my rehab.”

I understand Shump wants to get healthy as quick as possible, but like Rose critics, healing from an ACL injury is something not to rush. Also, this is only Iman’s second season, there is no reason to rush back to a mediocre team to risk re-injury.

Take it slow, Iman, take it slow.
