First, Chris Bosh admitted that the Lakers — even if you believe otherwise — are the best team on paper, and now Kevin Durant believes the same via Marc Spears.
“People outside, fans, media, of course they are going to say (the Lakers are the favorites) because on paper they have the best lineup in the league. But you still got to play the games. We respect everybody. We are going to go through the league respecting everybody as well.
“We already view ourselves as an elite team, but we have to prove it again. Last year is over with.”
While you may ask why Bosh or Durant would say that the Lakers are the best team, in my mind, this is just a case of putting stress on the Lakers. Let’s be perfectly honest, the Thunder and the Heat are clearly the go to favorites.
Another thing, Kevin, not all of us are — in fact most of us — are so sure Lakers reign supreme in the west, that honor is still thrusted upon the young Thunder.
