Sure, we can say it’s “possible” the Nets could win a ring, and other catch phrases like “time will tell” and “nothing’s guaranteed” but I sort of, you know, giggled when Joe Johnson suggested the Nets could win a title this year.
I know what you’re thinking “That’s what he should say” ….but still I scoff at his politically correct interview with Zach Lowe:
“That’s what we are shooting for — the ring. There’s no need to sell ourselves short. You talk about gelling and figuring it out, and I think we have the perfect pieces: a great point guard, a great center. I don’t think any of our positions are the same or overlap at all.”
Don’t get me wrong, the Brooklyn Nets will see the playoffs and have a good run during the regular season with Williams, Johnson, Lopez, Wallace, Hump, Evans, etc, but I always laugh a little when players make championship decrees before training camp even starts.
Can’t we just get one player that will say “You see our team. Champship? You fuggin kidding me, dawg” (Oh, I guess Andre Miller do that) …..
