Here’s another example of an NBA player speaking confidently about his team and possible championship contention before training camp even begins. Los Angeles Clippers Blake Griffin spoke to the L.A. Times about his injury that happened in early July and how his health has improved to the extent that he is working out, but — as usual — he was asked about the Clippers and the moves they made over the summer and of course championship was mentioned.

“So, I think we can be very good. I think we can contend in the West and for a championship.”

Sure, Blake is saying all the right things and the Clippers are a great playoff team, but let’s cut to the chase, the Western Conference is really the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Lakers in a close second and then everyone else.
