We all love our respective NBA teams, but this — clearly — steps over the line as WHDH-TV in Boston, Massachusetts is reporting that a Miami Heat fan is being accused of stabbing a Celtics fan outside of the TD Garden following Game 6.
Boston Police are searching for a Miami Heat fan accused of stabbing a Celtics fan after Thursday night’s game.
Witnesses say a group of Miami Heat and Celtics fans poured into an alleyway by the TD Garden and one of the Heat fans stabbed a Celtics fan with a switch blade-like knife.
Witnesses told police that two groups of about six people starting arguing over the outcome of Thursday night’s game when the suspect, who was wearing Miami Heat clothing, pulled out a large knife and stabbed the victim.
The Boston Police released this on Friday:
At about 11:26pm, on Thursday, June 7, 2012, officers from District A-1 (Downtown) responded to a radio call for an assault on Causeway Street. While en-route, officers were advised that a person was stabbed and officers assigned to the Boston Garden Celtics-Heat Game were with the victim.
I’ve seen my fair share of NBA-related arguments after games, but violence is never an acceptable means to get your point across.
Simply put, it’s disgusting that someone would be stabbed over the outcome of a sporting event.
