With the NBA Draft next week, the draft/trade rumors are flying and the Atlanta Hawks are not an exception. The Hawks own the  #23 pick currently, but are ready to use players as trade chips to move up in the draft particularly floating around Josh Smith’s name as reported by Sam Amico.

The Hawks are said to be one team placing calls to improve their draft position. They currently own the No. 23 pick. One GM said the Hawks floated the names of both Josh Smith and Marvin Williams as potential trade chips.

Josh Smith seems to be the first name dropped when there are any Atlanta Hawk rumors, but Atlanta Hawks has also been linked to be interested in Jamal Crawford and Ray Allen.

The Hawks need to build around the 2 forwards Horford and J. Smith, anyone else should be available. They still need a center and a PG, M. Williams is a bust and needs to go period, all he is is a reminder how the hawks could have had C. Paul or D. Williams.
