A night where Thunder fans should be celebrating took a horrible twist Monday.
Immediately after Game 5 of the Western Conference semifinals, in which the OKC Thunder eliminated the Los Angeles Lakers, multiple reports were circulating across the internet, that just blocks away from Chesapeake Energy Arena a shooting took place.
NewsOK reports that 5 of the 8 people were taken to a hospital after the initial shooting and even a pregnant woman was hurt:
A pregnant woman was either kicked or hit in the abdomen, she said. Seven gunshot victims were found at the scene across several block around Reno Avenue and Mickey Mantle Drive, O’Leary said.
No one has been arrested, with the shootings. Here is a on-scene video via CBSSports that was obtained.
If remains to be seen, if this is in conjunction with the game or if it’s a gang-related type of activity.
At the end of the day, basketball is just a game.
