Coming off of a Game one win in the Lakers-Nuggets series, L.A. has to be feeling pretty confident, but this news may throw a cork in their advances.

TMZ is reporting Lakers man, Jordan Hill, has been charged with felony assault for allegedly choking a family member earlier in the year in Texas.

The alleged incident took place on February 29. If convicted, Hill faces up to 10 years in prison.

24-year-old Hill was recently traded to the Lakers from Houston in exchange for Derek Fisher … and has become a key member of the team.

Multiple attempts to reach a rep for Hill were unsuccessful.

A Houston station added these details:

Former Rockets forward Jordan Hill is accused of choking his girlfriend of two years during an argument at his Houston area residence.

According to court documents, his girlfriend told police that Hill, who now plays for the Los Angeles Lakers, assaulted her and choked her, causing bruising to her body and restricted her breathing on February 29, when he still played for the Rockets.

Hill’s girlfriend says she flew into Houston from Florida to see him and they got into an argument while discussing their future. During the argument, she says she threw his cell phones to the floor. She told police that Hill then punched her in the legs, grabbed her, pulled her off the couch and dragged her to where the phones were, and threw her against the wall.

A Lakers representative commented:

“We are aware of the media reports alleging an incident involving Jordan Hill from two months ago when he was a member of the Houston Rockets.”

“We do not have any details regarding these reports and therefore, as well as due to the personal and legal aspects, it would not be appropriate for us to comment.”

Jordan Hill was acquired in March in exchange for Derek Fisher and he is averaging 5 points and 4.8 rebounds this season.
