Sacramento Fought The Law …… And The Law Won

That’s right!! Lawson, who has emerged as Denver’s go-to guy and closer, with his CLUTCH 3-pointer at :04 seconds in overtime sealed a win for Denver, 119-116, bringing them to being tied 7th in the west with the Dallas Mavericks and their 4th consecutive win.

This was a GRITTY win. This was a PERSISTENCE win. This was a PERSEVERING win. This was a “Don’t Stop Believing” win.

What Did Denver Do Well?

First and foremost, they NEVER gave up

  • More blocked shots; 8-7
  • More rebounds; 49-47
  • Fast-break points; 22-20
  • Arron Afflalo + Lawson = Clutch
  • Manimal + Bird = AWESOMENESS
  • At 2:01 in the 3rd quarter, on a fast-break, 4 passes in one possession —> Unselfish Basketball

My game ball goes to Lawson and Afflalo both! Can we say clutch?!?!?!?! Arron Afflalo was huge late in the fourth; ICE COLD COOLNESS!! His 3 CLUTCH free throws sent the game in overtime; career-high 32 points. Forget everything I said earlier in the season, this was all WORTH it. AWESOME LAWSON!!! Another clutch performance with his three-pointer at :04 seconds, which sealed the game. This is the third game where he has flirted with a triple-double and his aggressiveness is SHINING BRIGHT!

How about the Manimal and the Bird?!?! Bird was outrageously wonderful Monday night, a bright spot on the pick and roll and more importantly he had that Bird energy. It was just another double-double night for Manimal, his third in four games, a career-high 20 points and 12 rebounds and more importantly his energy and bounce is becoming invaluable. Even more so, in the realm of how important he is to this Nuggets team.

Gallo and Nene are BAAACCKK!!! Yes, they are rusty, but they will be back to their old selves. Gallo will be back to his penetratable self, and Nene, yes he may be soft, but I believe some fail to grasp how agile and FAST on his feet he is for a big. Welcome back, guys!!!

Andre Miller had a craptastic game against the Spurs, jacking up shots all over the court, but he made wise decisions and racked up 11 assists during this game. A better performance all around. Al Harrington racked up another solid game! He had a near double-double with 14 points and 9 rebounds, but it’s apparent as a groupie’s motives that by the end of the 4th quarter, he just doesn’t have his legs under him.

This was one of those games that ranks high on the “Best Of The Year” for me. There was a sense that one was going to be taken from Denver, but that snatched that sommabitch back!!

“In the NBA we’ve had two or three games taken from us, and we probably took one from them.” – George Karl

The crowd was enthused by the end of the game, the team was enthused, I was orgasmically enthused.

Sometimes, games are going to get away from a team, but what matters more is the way the team responds to adversity.

Nuggets responded.
