It has finally come down to this point, after months of “will they or won’t they” speculation, Lakers General Manager, Mitch Kupchak, had a sit down with Pau Gasol to clear the air.
“I have an understanding of where things are. Where they stand and where he stands and where I stand. He [Kupchak] told me to just keep doing what you do, keep playing hard and playing on and from that point on, we’ll see.” – Pau Gasol
While Kupchak did NOT say he wouldn’t be traded, there seems to be a sense of ”Okay, let’s just go out and win games.”
HOWEVER, for Pau to allow this to affect his on court production, is INEXCUSABLE. Fans often tease that Pau is soft…even softer than Nene Hilario, but to be that emotional about a trade…….Get him some Pamperin or Midol.
I get it. I do.
These players have an emotional connection with said team, players, the city, but, not to sound cliché, but the NBA IS a business.
