It’s rookie watch time at my casa and I have been keeping my eye on Iman Shumpert. He was the 17th pick chosen by the New York Knicks. Boy, did he come and show out at the Knicks versus the New Jersey Nets first preseason game.
This player should be on EVERYONE’S list.
He came out confident. He came out ready to play. He came out ready to take his place on the Knicks roster.
One of the best moments, that I have viewed, was when he swipped the ball from D-Will’s hands into the backcourt and would go to make a layup.
16 points off the bench in 25 minutes and finishing 6 for 11 from the field.
Now, that’s a first impression.
Knicks fans, the level-headed ones, are probably already in love with Iman.
“I thought Shumpert played well,” D’Antoni said. “He can get a shot any time he wants to. He shoots the ball pretty well. He can definitely defend. He’s athletic, he’s long. There’s a lot of good stuff”
I think Iman sums it up the best:
“Basketball is basketball.”
It sure is and you, sir, know how to play.
Until next time,
Mrs.NBA
